Actress and politician Jaya Bachchan hailed and highlighted India's double win at the 95th Academy Awards in Rajya Sabha.
The renowned actor remarked on Tuesday that it is a proud occasion for the nation and that it is time to put an end to any north-versus-south discussions during his statement in the parliament. Bachchan said this is not the time to see which region or language has won but to celebrate the diversity of India and look at these films as "Indian first."
"Finally, the movie market is here, not in America," she said.
Jaya Bachchan further claimed that she is acquainted with RRR's director SS Rajamouli, screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad, and other individuals who helped India win the Oscars.
