NEW DELHI: People having their important bank works scheduled for the upcoming month must note the list of holidays on which they can't visit the bank as it will shut down.
The Reserve Banks of India (RBI) has released the list of Bank holidays in India for the month of March 2022 on which the banks will not be available for services.
In the upcoming month, there are a lot of major festivals like Holi and Mahashivratri which are celebrated by a large section of the population in the country.
According to the list shared by RBI, a total of seven days is counted as bank holidays following the seven festivals fallings of these days. As a whole, the banks will remain close for 13 days including all Sundays and Saturdays in the next month.
As per the notification, all bank branches including the private and public, cooperative and foreign banks will be remaining closed.
The month of February this year had a total number of 12 bank holidays among which the major holiday include Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami.
1. Mahashivratri- Tuesday 1st March, banks to remain closed in Gujarat.
2. Losar Festival- Thursday 3rd March, banks in Sikkim will be closed.
3. Chapkar Kut- Friday 17 March, Mizoram banks will be closed.
4. Holika Dahan- Friday 17 March, Banks in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand will remain close.
5. Holi- Friday 18 March, Banks in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Manipur, Orissa and Tripura will be closed.
6. Holi/Yaosang- Saturday 19 March, banks in Bihar, Orissa and Manipur will be closed.
7. Bihar Divas- Tuesday 22 March, Banks in the state of Bihar will remain close.
Banks will be closed on 2nd and 4th Saturday in March and on all Sundays. Here is the list of Saturdays and Sundays as Bank Holidays:
8. Sunday- 6 March
9. Second Saturday- 12 March
10. Sunday- 13 March
11. Sunday- 20 March
12. Fourth Saturday- 26 March
13. Sunday- 27 March
