The lady caught on camera throwing a bomb in the security camp has been identified as having links with the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Operation is underway to arrest the woman.

JAMMU: A woman wearing a burqa is caught on camera throwing a bomb at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp located in the Sopore area which falls in the Baramulla district of North Kashmir.

The entire incident was recorded on a CCTV camera on Tuesday 29 March at around 07:12 pm when the burqa-clad woman hurled a petrol bomb at the CRPF bunker.

In the CCTV footage, the woman was spotted with a petrol bomb inside her bag and throwing it toward the camp area. She was then seen running at full speed to escape from the spot.

However, officials informed that the burqa-clad woman has been identified after an investigation of the video clip that captured her.

According to certain information received the woman has a connection with a banned military group in Pakistan Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar in a statement informed that the woman has been identified and a search operation has been launched to arrest her.

Kumar further stated that the woman will be soon arrested following the search operation underway.

As per reports, the woman in burqa who attacked the security camp on Tuesday night is a Lashkar-e-Taiba ground worker having involvement in several criminal activities.

There are numerous criminal cases that are already filed against the same woman invading the CRPF camp in Sopore. Police were searching for the lady linked to criminal cases in her past.

Meanwhile, the police officials in association with the security forces are working together to arrest the convict.

On Wednesday 30 March, two terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba identified as Hilal Ah Rah (C- category terrorist) and Rayees Ahmed Bhat (ex-journalist) were executed in a police encounter at the Rainawari area of Srinagar.

As informed by the Kashmir Police, Rayees Ahmed Bhat had a media identity card as he previously worked as a journalist in an online news portal named 'Valley News services' in Anantnag.

IGP Vijay Kumar said that the two executed terrorists had connections to numerous terrorist incidents that took place recently including those killing civilians.
