New Delhi: Canada-based Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi have claimed the responsibility for Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder, who was shot dead in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on Sunday.

Taking to the social media site Facebook, Goldy Brar, who is a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed the responsibility for the attack on Sidhu Moose Wala.

"Sachin Bishnoi Dhattaranwali, Lawrence Bishnoi, and I are behind the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala," Brar said.

According to media reports, Punjab DGP VK Bhavra too said that Lawrence Bishnoi's gang is involved in this murder.

''Gang member Lucky has claimed responsibility for the murder from Canada. When Sidhu Musewala came out of his house, two to three vehicles blocked Moose Wala's vehicle from front and back and opened fire at him,'' he added.

Following the attack, Sidhu Moose Wala was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Notably, a day earlier, Moose Wala's security was withdrawn by the state government along with 424 people.

According to Mansa Senior Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Toora said that the attack is suspected to be the fallout of inter-gang rivalry.

''The name of Moose Wala's manager had cropped up in the murder case of youth Akali leader Vicky Middukhera last year,'' he added.

Meanwhile, the DGP announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team to probe the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.
