Guwahati: After three videos of couples involved in intimate moments while commuting through the elevators of Hyderabad metro stations have gone viral, sensation prevails in the nation with further orders of conducting a probe into the matter. As the metro stations use to be under complete CCTV surveillance, such incidents coming into the light is not admissible.
Notably, the three videos that got leaked of the couple’s intimate moments were taken from the CCTV footage of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited’s control room which even irks the authority. The same has been confirmed by an official spokesman of the HMRL as well.
The spokesman said, “We are investigating the leak.” He further stressed that strict actions will be taken on the person responsible for the leak of the videos along with also taking action on the couple who could dare to be involved in such illicit behaviour at a public place.
As the elevators in the metro stations are well equipped with closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, the intimate behaviour of the couples is quite well caught in the CCTV footage. Two of the videos have shown the couples unaware of the presence of a camera while in the third video the couple comes to realize the presence of CCTV cameras in the lift.
The provisions of the elevators in the metro stations and other places are basically done for facilitating the physically challenged and old aged people who cannot climb the stairs or go through the escalators. In such context, such acts inside the elevators are clear signs of misuse of the elevators for which the offenders are punishable.
Similar instances of sharing a private moment in the elevator had also got to be seen from elsewhere in the country.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Delhi then decided to approach DMRC to make a foolproof arrangement for the monitoring of CCTVs in the stations. CISF is responsible for providing security to the national capital’s metro services. It was then, a senior CISF official had said it that outsiders and people from other agencies should not be allowed to enter the control room as this may lead to leakage of footages.
