The SP was quoted as saying, "We found that it was an unregistered clinic with no infrastructure to perform surgeries. Quacks used razor blades to conduct operations."

As informed by Baldiram SHO Amrendra Singh when the woman went into labour, she was earlier taken to a midwife, who suggested the women's husband to take her to a primary health centre.

Later an auxiliary examined her and opined to take her to the hospital as her condition was critical. It was then the woman's husband took her to Maa Sharda Hospital where Shukla performed the C-Section with a shaving blade. The patient started to bleed profusely following which she was brought to the KGMU Trauma Centre, Lucknow. As her condition worsened, she died.
