Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Tests Positive for COVID

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi informed on Tuesday that he has tested positive for COVID. The former President of the Congress party, Gandhi is the fourth Congress leader to contract the infection.

The 50-year old Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad, Kerala, shared in his Twitter message that he was experiencing mild symptoms. He went for the COVID test and the results came out positive.

He has requested all those who had come in contact with him in the past few days to "follow all safety protocols and stay safe".

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had tested COVID positive on Monday and is undergoing treatment in AIIMS, New Delhi.

Earlier, Congress leaders Digvijay Singh and the party's national spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala too had tested positive for COVID.

Priyanka Gandhi Wadhra, elder sister of Rahul Gandhi had in the first week of April, cancelled her poll rallies in Kerala, Assam and West Bengal after her husband Robert Wadhra had tested positive for COVID. She had gone into isolation.
