GUWAHATI: On Saturday, while campaigning in Karnataka, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lashed out at the Congress party, accusing it of attempting to transform Karnataka into a hub for the banned Popular Front India.

During the BJP's electrifying campaign, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that Congress' DK Shivakumar belongs to the Tipu Sultan lineage. Sarma further recalled and stated emphatically that Assam was repeatedly attacked by the Mughals but was unable to win northeastern states due to its bravery. Similarly, the people of Kodava (Karnataka) have defeated Tipu Sultan on multiple occasions, and they can do it again this time.

Himanta Biswa Sarma also criticized Rahul Gandhi, questioning how he can govern when he is frequently absent from the country.

"In Assam, I am teaching a lesson to PFI sympathizers and closing madrasas," he added. Cong, on the other hand, is running the Chief Minister Madrasa Scheme in Rajasthan."

The Karnataka election will be held on May 10, and the ballots will be counted on May 13.

While Congress is saying that the BJP is hatching a 'Plot to Kill' Kharge in poll-bound Karnataka. In defense, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has ordered an investigation into the serious allegations made by Congress.

On the other hand, PM Modi holds a 26-kilometer-long roadshow and says in a public meeting that the Congress is just attacking India's democracy and that the BJP has always tried to work for the welfare of the people and the nation.

Meanwhile, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a BJP star campaigner, performs a massive roadshow in Udupi, Karnataka.

The Congress Party is also blaming the BJP and has issued a 'corruption rate card' for the party. Karnataka Congress Chief Dk Shivakumar believes the party will win at least 141 seats in the state elections. The Congress Chief expressed grave concern about the BJP's inclusion of the Uniform Civil Code and the National Register of Citizens in their manifesto.
