On Friday, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi called for a meeting with the CM's of the ten worst coronavirus-affected states and instructed them that all states must ensure that there should not be any delay in the supply of medical oxygen to the other states by the oxygen tankers. He also urged the 'high burden states' to remain united in the fight against this deadly disease and also assured them the necessary support from the centre.
In a significant buildup in the fight against COVID-19, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) gave consent to the emergy use of Zydus' anti-viral drug called Virafin as it has shown the potential to reduce the need for supply of oxygen support and improve recovery time for patients moderately affected by the novel coronavirus.

Kamrup Metro reported 883 fresh COVID cases followed by Kamrup Rural at 159, Dibrugarh at 154, and Nagaon at 100. 12 COVID-induced fatalities have been reported in the state, taking the total death toll to 1,172. Kamrup Metro reported 5 deaths, Kokrajhar reported 2 deaths and 1 death each was reported from the districts of Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup Rural, and Udalguri. The positivity rate in the state is 3.29% while the recovery rate is 93.53%.
