NEW DELHI: In a shocking and tragic incident, a disabled Muslim youth lost his life in Delhi after being brutally beaten by an alleged Hindu mob. The Muslim youth was beaten to death for allegedly entering a temple and consuming prasad, which was offered before a Hindu deity.

The deceased has been reportedly identified as Mohammed Ishaq. As per reports, the heart-wrenching episode unfolded on Tuesday in the Sundar Nagri area of Northeast Delhi. A video of the lynching incident has since gone viral on social media, revealing the horrifying ordeal endured by the disabled Muslim youth. The video depicts Ishaq being mercilessly thrashed by a group of Hindu individuals, despite his desperate pleas for mercy and assistance.

Abdul Wajid, the grief-stricken father of the victim, shared the devastating account of discovering his son's lifeless body outside their home, marked with severe injuries. Overwhelmed by sorrow, Abdul Wajid told an international news agency, "I have lost everything."

In his final moments, Ishaq recounted to his father the horrific ordeal he had endured, describing how the mob had tied him to a pole and subjected him to brutal violence. As stated by his father, they accused him of theft at the temple, ultimately leading to him being beaten and killed.

Abdul Wajid emotionally said while speaking to the said news agency, "My son was killed because he ate prasad. Those who killed my son found it offensive that a Muslim touched their prasad."

As far as the investigation is concerned, Delhi police have taken action in response to this appalling incident, detaining several individuals as part of their ongoing investigation. Authorities are actively working to identify the culprits through CCTV footage and mobile phone videos related to the incident.

Meanwhile, in the interest of maintaining peace and order, enhanced security measures have been implemented in the area where the incident took place to prevent any potential untoward situation.
