Delhi Researcher Shashank Manu Creates World Record by Covering 286 Metro Stations in 15 Hours

NEW DELHI: A freelance researcher from Delhi traversed 286 metro stations in a time-record of more than 15 hours. The researcher, who goes by the name Shashank Manu, enjoyed using the Delhi Metro and succeeded in April 2021. For the kind deed, his name was added to the Guinness World Records.

At 5 am on the blue line of the Delhi Metro, Manu began his record-breaking journey. At 8:30 pm, he arrived at the Brigadier Hoshiar Singh station on the green line.

Taking on twitter, Manu informed ,” Hey @GWR

look what just arrived, the certificate for my Guinness record of visiting all Delhi Metro stations in fastest time! Also the news of my record was prominently covered by many media outlets in India. THANK YOU!”

But due to a mistake, he was given this honour in April of this year. The honour was previously presented to Prafull Singh, a revenue inspector for the metro. Singh completed the whole Delhi metro system on August 29, 2021, while Manu had already done so on April 14 of that same year in a record-breaking 15 hours, 22 minutes, and 49 seconds.

The independent researcher used a one-day tourist pass, starting from 5 am on the blue line and finishing at 8:30 pm at the Brigadier Hoshiar Singh station on the green line, to complete the feat. He had access to a day of limitless rides on the 348 kilometre network thanks to the tourist card.

The Delhi guy made sure that each step of his voyage was documented with photos, an unedited video, and a form that was signed by other passengers. In accordance with the Guinness rules, he was accompanied on the journey by two "independent witnesses," who were also required to follow the Covid protocols. Additionally, he made sure that each station's train doors' opening and closing times were recorded.
