Shimla, Aug 24: For the first time in over 60 years, Dharamsala, the abode of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, on Friday recorded the highest precipitation on a single day in a month, an official said here. In the last 24 hours, Dharamsala in Kangra district recorded 292.4 mm of rain and this was the highest ever precipitation in the town in August, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director Manmohan Singh told IANS. He said the last time the highest single-day precipitation in Dharamsala of 316.4 mm was recorded on August 6, 1958. (IANS)
