Diwali also known as Deepavali or Lakshmi Puja is the festival of lights celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm and with fun. This year the auspicious festival will be celebrated on 4 November. It is a festival of five long days starting from Dhanteras and ending with Bhai Dooj. Diwali is believed to bring prosperity along with fortune and keep away the evil with the victory of lights over darkness.
The devotees during Diwali worshipped Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha with the hope of seeking blessing with peace and happiness. Goddess Lakshmi is regarded as the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Varieties of sweets such as Kheer, Burfi, Ladoos are prepared that are served as Prasad to families and relatives. During the festival of Diwali people light up their houses with lights and Diyas some often do fasting for their ancestors and for house Gods.

According to the calendar of Hindu, the accurate time to perform the important ritual of Maa Lakshmi Puja this year is evening 06:09 pm to 08:04 pm.
• Lakshmi Puja Muhurat: Evening 06:09 PM to 08:04 PM, the time duration for the Subh Muhurat is one Hour 56 Minutes
• Evening 05:34 PM to 08:10 PM as Pradosh Kaal
• Evening 06:09 PM to 08:04 PM as Vrishaba Kaal
• Morning 06:03 AM on 4 November will begin the Amavasya Tithi
• Morning 02:44 AM on 5 November will end the Amavasya Tithi
• Purify your home by cleaning every part and sprinkle Ganga gal at every corner
• Prepare the puja room and spread a red piece of cloth on a table and at the center keep grains
• Place a Kalash at the middle of the grains, Kalash means a pot of silver or bronze
• Place the idol of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi in the southwest direction of the Kalash
• Prepare a thali with flowers, Haldi, rice grains, and coins and then keep in front of the idol
• Keep the wealth-related things in front of the idol
• Apply Tilak and then light up Diyas
• Recite the mantras of the Puja
• Bath the idol with water followed by Panchamitra
• Offer mala or garland and place it around the neck of the idol
• Offer sweets and fruits to the goddess
• At last perform the Lakshmi Aarti along with Puja bell and thali
