Chennai: In a very surprising event, a doctor in Chennai drove the Chennai police crazy on Monday midnight, as he drove away cops' vehicle. A doctor, who was returning from his friend's house at 1.30 AM on Monday, was caught by the Chennai Police and was sent home in an autorickshaw for driving drunk.

The doctor, who is identified as Dr S Muthu Ganesh, a 31-year-old man from Arakonam, Chennai was caught drunk driving on Harrington road. He was sent home in an autorickshaw and was asked to keep his car with the police. However, when he came back to take his car, the police refused to return. Out of anger, the doctor drove away from the police vehicle and dashed the jeep against an autorickshaw at Kilpauk, injuring three people.

When the doctor was first caught, he refused to blow into the breathalyzer and tried convincing the cop. He showed his identity card too. However, the cops refused to consider him and made him blow into the breathalyzer. Since he tested drunk, the cops asked him to park his car by the road and sent him off in an autorickshaw.

According to the police, the doctor returned at the Ega signal on Poonamallee high road around 3.30 AM. He asked them to return his car and said that he would not go home without it. The traffic police told him that he could collect his car in the morning after paying a fine.

The doctor called someone on his phone, and the police went back to their work. To everyone's surprise, the doctor got into the police's patrol vehicle and drove away. One of the sub-inspectors flagged down a biker and chased the patrol vehicle.

Meanwhile, the doctor dashed against an autorickshaw and injured three people, who were sent to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital. The doctor was sent to Puzhal prison by a city court.
