BENGALURU: On Tuesday, a two-seater training plane believed to be owned by Redbird Aviation experienced a technical issue and made an emergency landing close to Sambra airport in Karnataka's Belagavi. According to early reports, both pilots suffered minor wounds and have been transported to an Air Force hospital for care.
The incident happened after the training plane, which was carrying a pilot and a student pilot, took off at 9:30 AM from Sambra airfield in Belagavi. The aeroplane made a forced landing in Honnihala village in Belagavi after experiencing a mechanical problem mid-flight.
Reports state that one person inside the aircraft received minor wounds, and a trainer suffered leg injuries. The injured were taken straight to the hospital when the Indian Air Force and local police arrived on the scene.
It is noteworthy because it used as a training tool for the instructors at the Belagavi Flight Training Centre. As soon as the tragedy was reported, Air Force officials, training school administrators, and fire fighters flocked to the area to conduct a rescue mission.
Redbird, a business, is the owner of the trainer aircraft VT-RBF. It is now unknown what exactly caused the emergency landing. A police station in Marihal received a report of the event.
Redbird flying Training Academy was founded in 2017 and has received approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to conduct flying training. It is linked with the Indian Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council and has received accreditation from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
On April 15, a Saturday afternoon, a Bagdogra-bound IndiGo flight experienced mechanical difficulties and had to make an emergency landing at Delhi's IGI airport. Flight 6E 6282 from Delhi to Bagdogra made a precautionary return to Delhi, according to IndiGo. Airport officials said that the aircraft made an emergency landing owing to a mechanical issue. More than 200 passengers were on board.
