New Delhi: The farmers protesting against the farm laws in the national capital have rejected the offer of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to shift their protests to a site in Burari, outskirts of Delhi. Several farmer unions have decided that they want to hold the protests in Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

It was the fourth consecutive day of protest by the farmer unions. The protest is against the Centre's new agricultural laws.

Due to the ongoing protests, various entry and exit points are blocked near the capital. Amit Shah had requested the farmers to shift to the Burari ground, which is in the outskirts of Delhi. He further said that the Centre would hold discussions with the farmers once they shift to the designated place.

Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister of Punjab also supported Shah's offer to hold the meetings at the earliest as this would be the best for the farmers.

The farmers, however, have prepared for a long haul with all their necessary things like utensils, ration, blankets and so on.

The farmers have been persistent with their protest despite the shivering cold at night.
