NEW DELHI: During the recent debate over the anti-hijab row in educational institutions, Islamists
have been rewarding one Muskan Khan with gifts and incentives for standing her
ground in the face of hundreds of protesting students by yelling "Allah hu
Akbar."
On February 8, Muskaan Khan, a student at PES College Mandya, Karnataka, made headlines. The video went viral when she was heard exclaiming "Allahu Akbar" in response to a chorus of "Jai Sriram" from gathering who were following her.
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JuH), one of the country's oldest Muslim organisations, has given a Rs 5 lakh incentive. The Rs 5 lakh, according to JuH president Maulana Mahmood Madani, is an incentive for her bravery.
In the case of Muskaan's cash reward announcement, however, a complaint has been lodged.
Meanwhile, Zeeshan Siddique, a Maharashtra Congress MLA (Bandra), paid her a visit in Mandya and commended her "bravery," promise her of his support, and gave her with iPhone & smartwatch. "I travelled such a long distance to connect with the courageous young woman. I applaud her for her bravery." Congress MLA said.
The Hindu students were referred to as "zaalims" (cruel) by Congress MLA and stated that wearing hijab is a fundamental right. "The constitution protects the right to wear a hijab. One can dress in anything she wants. You don't like her hijab or the fact that she's getting an education, do you?" Congress MLA said.
The entire scenario of banning the hijab, according to AIMPLB general secretary Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, is an effort to destroy peace and amity in the nation.
