New Delhi: The Hero items featured in Prime Minister's Mementos e-Auction seems to be drawing a lot of potential buyers after India's performance in the Olympics and the Paralympics.
The Hero items include the gadgets and equipment used by Olympians and Paralympians with their autographs signed on each of the items.
Among these sports personalities, the highest bids have been drawn by items that belong to boxer Lovlina Borgohain, badminton players Krishna Nagar and S L Yathiraj and javelin champion Neeraj Chopra.
As of now, the boxing gloves used by Lovlina Borgohain has received a bid of Rs. 1.92 crores, which is the highest among other items in the e-auction. The base price of the gloves was set at Rs. 80 lakh.
The javelin used by India's sole gold medal winner, Neeraj Chopra, was set at a base price of Rs. 1 crore and has now received a bid of more than Rs. 1.55 crores.
By Friday afternoon, the badminton racquets used by Tokyo Paralympics 2020 badminton champions Krishna Nagar and S L Yathiraj and the fence used by CA Bhavani Devi had drawn a bid of Rs. 10 crores each but after a review, the bids were found to be fake. Currently, the badminton racquets have drawn a bid of Rs. 80 lakhs while the fence has drawn a bod of Rs. 50 lakh.
The javelin used by Paralympian Sumit Antil was set at a base price of Rs. 1 crore and has drawn a bid of Rs. 1,00,08,000.
The e-auction will be live till October 7. The highest bidders will be notified through email by the ministry after the auction ends.
