NEW DELHI: On the 125th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the government of India initiated the installation of a giant statue of Netaji at the India Gate in New Delhi.
On Friday 21 January Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement that a big granite statue of iconic leader Netaji will be installed at India Gate symbolizing the country's indebtedness to him.
The PM informed that until the completion of the granite statue a hologram statue of Netaji with the same structure will be placed at the India Gate.
The hologram statue will be revealed by the government on the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji i.e. on Sunday 23 January 2022.
PM Modi took to Twitter to share the news that during the period when the nation is busy celebrating the birth anniversary of the Indian nationalist, he is happy to share that a grand granite statue will be placed at India Gate and the statue will be the symbol of India's indebtedness to the legendary patriot.
He wrote that the statue will be installed under a great canopy which earlier had the statue of King George V but was later removed in the year 1968.
For this major initiative by Prime Minister Modi, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wrote on Twitter congratulating him and stated that the installation of Netaji's giant granite statue will rouse the feeling of patriotism among the people. He also says that this will also awaken self-respect and courage in the thoughts of people to stand with one's nation.
The founder of Azad Singh Fauj, Netaji is still remembered by people across the nation for his widespread contributions in making India free from British rule and setting the example of an iconic leader that India can ever have.
His active role in the independence movement of the country is remarkable which left great impressions in India. The national also remembers his role in the non-corporation movement that led to great impact.
Being the leader of the Indian National Congress, Netaji took the lead in various socialist policies by advocating them in his own ways. So this year marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji the country is all set to honour and pay tribute to him along with the massive observation of Republic Day 2022.
