GANDHINAGAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released its party manifesto for the Gujarat Assembly Elections.

The manifesto of the party which has held power for six consecutive terms was released in Gandhinagar by BJP National President JP Nadda, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patil and State BJP President CR Patil.

It may be mentioned here that elections for the 182-member strong Gujarat Legislative Assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and December 5, whereas the counting of votes will take place on 8th of the next month. During the last Assembly Polls in 2017, BJP won in 99 constituencies while the Congress came close with 77 seats.

In its manifesto, the BJP has listed at least 40 points which it aims to fulfill in the next five years if elected to power for the seventh consecutive term.

It is worth mentioning here that the list of promises also includes the complete implementation of the recommendations of Gujarat Uniform Civil Code Committee. The other promises listed are providing 2 million jobs to the unemployed under 'Sankalp Patra' scheme, making the state a USD 1 trillion economy.

Other promises include a schools of excellence project, increasing the annual cap under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat) to Rs. 10 lakh per family from the existing Rs. 5 lakh and blue economy industries corridor among others.

The party also mentioned the implementation of Gujarat Recovery of Damages of Public and Private Properties Act in its manifesto. This act if passed will be beneficial to recover damages done to public and private properties by anti-social elements during riots, violent protests and other unrests.

Addressing media persons at the manifesto release ceremony BJP National President JP Nadda said, "We always do what we say and it is our specialty, that we also do what we have not said (in the manifesto)."

Launching Gujarat Olympics Mission is one of the promises in the manifesto that will aim to create world-class sports infrastructure to bid for 2036 Summer Olympics.

It may be recalled here that the party launched its 'Agresar Gujarat' (progressive Gujarat) campaign on November 5 that aimed at reaching out to the grassroots to seek people's opinion for its election manifesto.
