GANDHINAGAR: In numerous areas of Gujarat, heavy rains resulted in flood-like conditions and shut off many villages, according to officials on Sunday. They added that other villages were shut off as a result of flooding or washed-away roadways.

According to the police, Jamnagar is one of the worst-affected areas and 11 people have already died as a result of rain-related events. According to state government officials, approach roads flooding has shut off communities in Surendranagar district's Limbdi taluka. They added that residents of one of the villages saved about seven individuals.

The National and State Disaster Response Forces (NDRF and SDRF) are currently working to rescue those who are stuck in all of these locations. According to statistics from the State Emergency Operation Centre, up until Sunday morning, numerous areas of the Valsad and Navsari districts experienced exceptionally severe rainfall. The state has had 32 millimetres of average rainfall over the past 24 hours, with Dharampur taluka in Valsad district topping the way with 234 mm, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).

According to the report, 205 talukas in the state had considerable rainfall, with portions of the Valsad, Navsari, Junagadh, Amreli, Chhota Udepur, Ahmedabad, and Surendranagar districts experiencing rainfall ranging from 100 to 234 millimetres. According to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast, Gujarat will likely have light to moderate rainfall during the next five days.

While heavy rains were falling, Gujarat's administration was making every attempt to help its citizens, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Due to stormy weather brought on by an intense monsoon, the weather office further recommended fishermen to stay off the Arabian Sea until July 3. Additionally, certain areas of Gujarat are quite likely to have light to moderate rainfall until July 5.
