NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi has been leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress' mass engagement campaign, for 100 days since it began in September. The team is currently in Rajasthan after travelling through seven states thus far during the foot march.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is scheduled to join Gandhi on Friday along with other recently-elected MLAs of the grand old party, only days after taking the oath of office as the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. The grand old party has received no less than a shot in the arm with the Himachal victory.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, along with MLAs, would be participating in the Yatra with Rahul Gandhi, the Himachal Pradesh branch of the Congress stated in a Hindi tweet.

After landing in Jaipur on Thursday night, Sukhu was cited by a source as saying, "Congress won in Himachal Pradesh thus all our 40 MLAs would join in the (Bharat Jodo) yatra tomorrow and thank the Congress leadership for having faith in us."

Rahul Gandhi has travelled through several states throughout the three months of the foot march, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. After consecutive electoral failures starting in 2014, the Kanyakumari to Kashmir Yatra was started with the intention of reviving the great old party's connection with the populace.

Former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan took part in the Rajasthan foot march this week as well. Along with discussing the national economy, he had a conversation with Rahul Gandhi and expressed his thoughts and outlook for the coming year. On Wednesday, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra tweeted about his involvement.

"After spending a week with the Bharat Jodo Yatra I think people shying away from walking the yatra & trying to be neutral. It's not neutrality that's keeping you on the fence; it's fear. Standing up against power is also democratic like it use to be before 2014," He tweeted his thoughts.

Along with Riya Sen and Swara Bhaskar, actors Pooja Bhatt and Swara Bhatt have marched alongside Rahul Gandhi.
