Huge amount of Chinese accessories seized by RPF

Coochbehar: A total of six cartons containing China-made accessories were seized by Railway Protection Force (RPF), New Coochbehar under Alipurduar Division of NFR.

The seized Chinese items contain 820 mobile batteries 640 mobile LCD touch display screens. According to police officials, the value of the goods is over Rs.2 lakhs. The items were later handed over to the Inspector of Customs, Dinhata, West Bengal.

The operation was carried by Inspector BN Bhowmick and Assistant Sub Inspector SK Roy under the supervision of Ravi Kumar, RPF inspector, New Coochbehar during a regular search.

It may be mentioned that, since 2017, the RPF has detected over 600 cases of smuggling of contraband goods and apprehended 185 persons.
