New Delhi: The International Cricket Council commenced the countdown to ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on Thursday which is scheduled to be held in India in October-November, 2021.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, secretary Jay Shah and ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney were present at the ceremony to launch the countdown for T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai on Thursday.
The ICC has not confirmed the dates for T20 World Cup 2021 yet but both the editions are likely to be held in October-November next year.
"With Diwali just two days away and with the countdown to the tournament in India underway, this is an opportune moment to unveil our brand identity that so wonderfully reflects the vibrant festival of lights," said Manu Sawhney at the launch ceremony.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said, "It is a matter of great honour for us to be hosting the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. India has successfully staged several global events since the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 1987and I am sure cricketers from around the world would be excited at the prospect of playing in our cricket-loving country."
BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that the BCCI will leave no stone unturned in taking all the efforts needed to deliver a safe and successful tournament in 2021.
