New Delhi: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday said that the Government will consider revoking the suspension of the eight Rajya Sabha members only if they apologize for their 'unruly' behavior in the Rajya Sabha.
This came after a number of opposition parties led by the Congress, staged a walkout from the Upper House demanding the suspension order be revoked.
After the Congress staged a walkout, Aam Admi Party, TMC, and Left too walked out from the ongoing session.
On Monday, eight opposition members of the Rajya Sabha were suspended for the rest of the session by Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu over the chaos in the upper house with Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh over the passing of the farm bills.
The MPs refused to leave the House yesterday resulting in the House getting adjourned for the day.
Rajya Sabha today passed the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020, the Indian Institutes of Information Technology Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and amendments to essential commodities law even as Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the opposition will boycott the proceedings of the House till the suspension is revoked.
