Mumbai: A 26-year-old student of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on Monday committed suicide.
According to reports, the deceased was a Master's student and was in the second year of the programme.
He allegedly killed himself at 4:30 AM.
The reports further claimed that the deceased student identified as Darshan Malviya was undergoing treatment for depression.
He had also written a message on the board in his hostel room, stating that no one should be held responsible for his death.
His body was first spotted by a watchman outside the seven-story hostel building who called up an official of the institute. Later, police were informed and they took him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, his family members were informed about the same, and police have registered a case of accidental death.
