IIT Guwahati To Conduct JEE-Advanced On June 4

GUWAHATI: IIT Guwahati announced on Friday the schedule for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. On June 4, 2023, the tests will be conducted.

The key test for 2023 will be administered by IIT Guwahati. The test consists of two papers that last three hours each. Candidate participation in both examinations is required, according to IIT officials.

"The Joint Admission Board 2023 will direct the seven zonal coordinating IITs in the 2023 JEE-Advanced examination (JAB 2023). Admission to the Bachelor, Integrated Master, and Dual Degree programmes (entrance at the 10+2 level), indicated in clause 2, in all the IITs in the academic year 2023–2024, will be based on a candidate's performance in JEE(Advanced) 2023 "IIT Guwahati senior official's statement was cited by Media sources.

The official added, "Decisions of JAB 2023 will be final in all matters relating to JEE (Advanced) 2023 and admissions to IITs in the academic year 2023–24."

A prerequisite exam for JEE-Advanced is JEE-Main, which is administered for entry into engineering colleges across the nation.

Additionally, the sources claim that NTA has decided to reinstate the 75% marks requirement for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. To be admitted to these institutions beginning in 2023, applicants must pass the JEE Main test and achieve a minimum grade point average of 75% in their Class 12 board exams.

On jeemain.nta.nic.in, NTA has also made the JEE Main 2023 syllabus announcement. On December 15, the National Testing Agency (NTA) published the announcement for JEE Main 2023. Application for the exam is available at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

According to sources, 75% criteria were removed from JEE Main in 2020.

In 2020, then Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' relaxed norms for admission at centrally-funded institutions amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in the closure of schools, and colleges and disrupted almost all education-related activities across the country.
