KULGAM: Two terrorists having links to the proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed(JeM) were gunned down by a platoon of Jammu Kashmir Police and Indian army in Kulgam Valley in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Those killed have been identified as Mohammad Shafi Ganie of Batpora, Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir and Mohammad Asif Wani aka Yawar of Takia Gopalpora in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The killing of two Jaish terrorists came just a day after a militant who was later identified as Abu Hurrara from the same outfit was gunned down in the same district.
According to reports, the security forces launched a cordon off of the people in the area so as to assure no public casualties in the area and then search operation was carried on in the Ahwatoo area of the Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir after they received a tipoff from human intelligence about the presence of militants in the village.
According to a police official, the search operation was going on well when suddenly the militants opened blind fire at the security forces, the security forces also had to open the fire in retaliation and as a result two JeM militants were put to sleep forever by the security forces.
According to sources, an army soldier and two civilians were injured in the operation and all of them were shifted to hospital and is now ongoing treatment.
Notably, One AK series rifle, one pistol, grenades and other warlike stores have been recovered from their possession.
According to a data released by police sources, Security forces have killed 154 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir this year, including 41 from Pakistan. 20 security personnel and 21 civilians, too have lost their lives.
With Jammu and Kashmir no longer a separate entity the Indian army in Jammu and Kashmir is now even more stronger and is in the mission to make the Kashmir valley more welcoming by eliminating the dirt of terrorism in the state.
