SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir has directed authorities to increase resource mobilization and manpower to ensure timely completion of ongoing work for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. In a high-level meeting chaired by the LG, the preparedness of relevant departments and agencies was assessed.
Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai (GOC, 15 Corps), Mandeep Kumar Bhandari (CEO of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board), and members from the civil service, Border Roads Organisation (BRO), and communications service providers were among the dignitaries present at the meeting.
LG Sinha instructed officials to mobilize more resources and manpower to ensure that all necessary work is completed well before the scheduled commencement of the yatra on July 1. The progress of various tasks, including track upgrades, installation of safety railings, snow clearance, installation of Army tents, and strengthening of the telecommunication network, was reviewed.
Furthermore, the LG directed the telecom service providers to enhance network connectivity and increase the bandwidth along the yatra route. He also took stock of the work undertaken by the irrigation and flood control department.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah presided over a crucial high-level meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs to assess the preparedness and security arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra. The meeting, attended by officials and dignitaries involved in the pilgrimage, focused on ensuring the safety and security of the pilgrims.
Amit Shah, the home minister, emphasised the need of safeguarding the safety and security of the pilgrims during the meeting. He examined the current security protocols and gave the go-ahead for all essential preparations to be made in order to ensure a hassle-free and successful pilgrimage.
In his assessment of the situation in Jammu & Kashmir, LG Sinha emphasised the steps made to maintain peace and stability in the area. He expressed confidence in the smooth running of the Amarnath Yatra and gave the government his full backing in putting the necessary procedures in place.
Amit Shah expressed satisfaction with the progress made thus far and urged officials to remain vigilant and proactive in their duties. He emphasized the paramount importance of pilgrim safety and instructed relevant agencies to work together in coordination and synergy to achieve the desired objectives.
