Mumbai: Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Thursday arrested another suspected terror identified as Mohammad Irfan Rehmat Ali Shaikh (50) from his residence in Bandra on Maharashtra.

Three days before ATS personnel arrested two suspected terror named Zakir Hussain Shaikh and Rizwan Momin who were granted custody.

Sources said that during the preliminary investigation of Zakir Hussain Shaikh and Rizwan Momin they have revealed the name of Ali Shaikh who is a tailor by profession.

"After sustained interrogation, he confessed to his involvement," said an investigator.

"We have also seized Rs 49,000 in cash from his house which was meant for terror activities," the investigator said, adding, "He had received the money from an anonymous person who we are trying to trace."

Zakir and Rizwan were arrested on September 18 and 19, respectively, and were initially remanded in police custody for two days. On September 20, on the agency's plea in court, the duo was sent to judicial custody.

Three terrorist organisations are still operating in Afghanistan against Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday, after the Taliban had assured the Afghan soil would not be used against any state, Geo TV reported. Addressing a joint press conference along with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rehman in Dushanbe on Friday, Khan said he will try to convince the Afghan Taliban as there were concerns about the situation in Panjshir.

He added that Pakistan and Tajikistan wanted the issue in the valley to be resolved through talks. On the other hand, President Rehman said that he will use his influence in bringing the Tajik leadership of Afghanistan to the negotiating table to resolve their differences peacefully. Stressing the need for an inclusive government in Afghanistan, Khan warned that instability in the war-torn country could affect all the neighbouring countries, Geo TV reported.
