Madhya Pradesh: With the fear of getting vaccinated, a man climbed a tree and refused to come down until the Covid vaccination camp for the day in the Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh.
According to reports, the man not only climbed the tree but also kept his wife's Aadhar card with him to ensure neither of them was administered vaccine doses.
The man identified as Kanwarlal climbed the tree near the vaccination center and stayed there till the vaccination camp for the day was completed. Although his wife agreed to take the vaccine, he took her Aadhar card with him to ensure she remained unvaccinated as well.
On hearing of the incident, Khujner block medical officer Dr Rajiv visited the village and counseled Kanwarlal.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rajiv told the media, "After counseling, the man's fear has been wiped away. Now, the next time a vaccination camp is held in their village, Kanwarlal and his wife will get vaccinated."
Experts say rapid vaccinations and strict adherence to anti-Covid rules can help avoid a third wave of the pandemic. An analysis of vaccination data suggests most states have not been inoculating enough people. However, over the last few days, the country has witnessed an uptick in daily vaccination figures.
