Bhopal: In a case of moral policing by a mob in Madhya Pradesh, a couple was made to dance with motorcycle tyres around their necks as a punishment for eloping. 

This incident has taken place in Kundi village, which is in Madhya Pradesh on September 12. A man, who is 21 years old, had eloped with a 19-year-old woman in Dhar. They were later caught by the mob and were made to dance as punishment with motorcycle tyres hanging around their necks.

The entire incident was recorded in a video that soon started making rounds on social media. 

As per police reports, the mob had also punished a 13-year-old girl along with the couple for helping them elope. She can also be seen being forced to dance with a tyre around her neck. In a video, a man also appears and can be seen beating the three with a stick. The person recording the video can be heard laughing along with others in the video. 

After the video went viral, the police registered a case against 5 persons that belonged to the mob. However, only three arrests have been made so far. 

As per the statements of Additional Superintendent of Police Devendra Patidar, the incident occurred after the man and the woman returned to their village which falls under the Gandhwani police Station limits and is about 70 km from the district headquarters.

The police also added that the woman had been missing from her home since July.

The ASP said, "Her family members were angry as she had fled with a man. They suspected that another girl helped the woman in fleeing from her home."
