New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and discussed the present situation in Ukraine.
According to several media reports, the Prime Minister Modi thanked Zelenskyy for the help extended by his government in the evacuation of Indians from the country.
The reports also said that after speaking to Ukrainian President, Modi is set to call Russia President Vladimir Putin next.
Notably, this is the second time the Prime Minister had a conversation with the Ukrainian President Zelenskyy ever since the war broke out between the two countries.
The Ukrainian government has continuously appealing Modi to intervene and ask Russia to stop the war.
On Sunday, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had appealed to India and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ask Russia to stop the war between the two nations.

''Ukraine is important for India's food security and it is in India's interest that the war ends,'' he had said during a press conference on Sunday.
He further asserted that since India is a major consumer of Ukrainian agricultural products, it will be difficult to supply these products to India, if the war continues.
Kuleba said that Ukraine is playing an important role in the food security of the world adding, ''Indians can put pressure on the Russian embassy to stop the war.''
Prior to this, Zelenskyy had called upon for his PM Modi's political support after India had abstained to vote on a US-sponsored UN Security Council resolution that deplored Russia's actions on February 26.
Prime Minister Modi had also spoken to Putin shortly after the Russia attacked Ukraine urging them to opt dialogue and diplomatic negotiations.
On another phone call on March 2, PM Modi had discussed the evacuation of India students, especially in Kharkiv.
