Money Recovered From My Residence Belongs To Partha Chatterjee: Claims Arpita Mukherjee

Kolkata: Arpita Mukherjee on Thursday admitted that the money recovered from her residence belongs to arrested Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee.

Making a big revelation, Mukherjee, the aide of state government minister Partha Chatterjee, who was arrested in the school job scam in West Bengal, said that Partha Chatterjee used her house as a 'mini bank'.

As per reports, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) got this information from sources that claimed that Arpita's house was used as a mini bank by Partha Chatterjee as he used to keep money there.

Earlier, ED had seized Rs 21 crore in cash during raids at Arpit Mukherjee's house following which both of them were apprehended on Saturday.

Reportedly, Arpita told that the entire amount was kept in a room of her house, where only Partha Chatterjee and his people had access.

She further claimed that Chatterjee used to visit her house once every week or 10 days.

So far ED has recovered 45 crore cash along with foreign currency and the figure is expected to increase further. In addition to this, more than 20 phones and documents of many companies were recovered from Arpita's house in the last raid.

Meanwhile, the incumbent West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has completely distanced herself from this scam.
