NIA Arrests Jaish-e-Mohammad Terrorist Deported from UAE

Guwahati: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammad operative who was accused of targeting a CRPF training centre in Pulwama's Lethpora nearly two years ago who was being deported from the United Arab Emirates. (UAE).

The terrorist, Nisar Ahmed Tantray was later sent to the police custody by an NIA court.

The terror operative attacked a CRPF training centre at Lethpora on the night of December 31, 2017 who was a part of the heavily armed group. The attack on 2017 led to the death of five soldiers. It has been reported that among the two terrorists killed was the 16-year-old son of a policeman who had joined JeM a few months before the attack.

On December 31, 2017, the terrorists had struck around 2 am and threw grenades and opened fire before breaching the perimeter of the training centre. The Pakistan based terror outfit JeM claimed responsibility for the attack soon afterwards.

The terrorist Nisar Ahmed Tantray fled to the UAE on February 1, 2019 after one of his associates was arrested by NIA, according to source. Tantray is the younger brother of a JeM commander Noor Tantray who was killed by security forces in an encounter at Pulwama on December 26, 2017.

The NIA is currently interrogating the terrorist.

Moreover, the United Kingdom, the United States and France have sent a fresh proposal to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to blacklist the Chief of Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad Masood Azhar who have attacked an Indian paramilitary convoy in Pulwama on February 14 where 40 CRPF jawans have been martyred. The move has been supported by several countries but China has blocked it repeatedly.

The Pakistan based terror group has also attacked an army camp at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir on September 18, 2016 which resulted in the death of 19 soldiers and four terrorists involved in the attacked were also killed.
