The Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has completed seven years of governance at the centre today.
The BJP led coalition - NDA (National Democratic Alliance) under the able leadership of Narendra Modi came to power in 2014 after a landslide victory in the general elections, putting an end to the decade-long rule of the Congress-led UPA government. The NDA had secured 336 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The BJP single-handedly became crossed the majority mark bagging 282 seats.
Narendra Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister for the second time on May 30, 2019, after his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Lok Sabha elections for the second time. The NDA secured an even larger mandate with 353 seats. The BJP single-handedly won 303 seats.
Several Chief Ministers of Northeast India congratulated PM Modi on the completion of 7 years in office.
BJP President JP Nadda congratulated PM Modi saying his leadership and guidance have paved the way for "Atmanirbhar Bharat" and also extended his wishes to the "National Democratic Alliance (NDA) family."
"Hearty congratulations to Modi Ji on the completion of seven years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's government, and best wishes to the entire NDA family. Under Modi Ji's leadership, we will celebrate today's day as Seva Diwas. Today crores of our workers will do public service in 1 lakh villages," tweeted Nadda and hashtagged the tweet as "7YearsOfSeva".
BJP President said the party worked on PM Modi's motto of "Seva hi sangathan" during his seven years in office and aided millions of those in need.
"In concern of every Indian during the Corona pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji immediately announced relief packages. He called upon the government machinery, organisation, and all others to help the needy. BJP worked on Modi Ji's mantra of 'Seva hi sangathan' and helped millions of people," he tweeted.
PM Modi used the hashtag #7YearsofSeva to publish a list of pro-people policies put in place in the last seven years.
