CHANDIGARH: In a bid to restore normalcy amidst recent turmoil, the District Magistrate of Nuh announced the relaxation of the curfew from 9 am to 1 pm on August 7. This four-hour window will allow public movement in the area. However, certain restrictions will still be in place, with cash transactions at banks limited to a specific timeframe – 11:00 am to 02:00 pm. The curfew relaxation also includes the opening of ATMs in various blocks, including M.C area of Nuh, Tauru, Punhana, Ferozepur Jhirka, Pingwon, and Nagina.

To facilitate necessary financial transactions, banks will operate from 10 am to 3 pm during the curfew period. These measures aim to ensure essential services while maintaining a balance between security concerns and public needs.

Despite these efforts, the situation in Nuh remains tense as mobile internet and SMS services continue to be suspended. The suspension was extended till August 8 for mobile internet and until 5:00 pm on August 7 for SMS services in Nuh and Palwal districts. These actions were taken following clashes that erupted on July 31, triggered by a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession disruption attempt. The violence subsequently spread to Gurugram and other districts, leading to tragic consequences with six reported deaths.

The Haryana government stated that the unrest was further aggravated by an attack on the cybercrime police station in Nuh district. The attack was allegedly aimed at destroying evidence linked to a significant fraud uncovered earlier in the year. This massive cyber fraud, valued at around Rs 100 crore, was discovered in April, resulting in a series of investigations by Haryana Police. Documents related to this fraud were stored at the targeted police station, raising suspicions of tampering and sabotage.

The situation underscores the complexity of restoring order while addressing the multifaceted challenges arising from both the unrest and the ongoing criminal investigations. The government's response seeks to strike a delicate balance between maintaining law and order, preserving crucial evidence, and safeguarding public services.

In conclusion, Nuh district in Haryana is navigating through a tumultuous period marked by curfew relaxation attempts, service suspensions, and a backdrop of clashes and criminal investigations. The restoration of normalcy hinges on effectively managing these intricate circumstances to ensure the safety and well-being of the public while upholding the rule of law.
