New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conducted an interactive session with the Chief Ministers of all the states pertaining to the current COVID-19 situation in the country.
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, the Prime Minister posted a video, where he urged everyone to take utmost precaution vis-a-vis Covid-19. He also appealed to the masses to undertake "Pre-emptive, Proactive and Collective measures" in his speech.
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga also tweeted marking his presence in the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister to discuss issues pertaining to the emerging situation of COVID-19 in the country.
This high-level meeting was conducted in the wake of surging COVID cases across the country and the threat of the omicron variant which still looms large.
Earlier, a meeting to review the COVID-19 situation in the country had been chaired by the Prime Minister on January 9 via video conference.
The PM emphasized the need to ensure adequate health infrastructure at the district level.
As many as 2,47,417 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported on 13 January and 1,94,720 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on the previous day. It shows a 27 percent increase in COVID figures within a span of a day.
