NEW DELHI : The central paramilitary force CRPF on 24th of December stated that, several security protocols were violated by Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Delhi.
The central force made this statement right after the Congress general secretary, KC Venugopal alleged that Delhi police was unsuccessful in providing security to Rahul Gandhi during his Yatra in the state.
KC Venugopal wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, mentioning about scattered security services in Delhi. The Congress party demanded for stern security for its leader while his time in the sensitive regions of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the CRPF showed its disagreement towards the allegation made by KC Venugopal, and informed that the security arrangements were made by CRPF, state police and other concerned agencies for Rahul Gandhi.
The force further mentioned that the liaison was conducted 2 days prior to the main event. An Advance Security Liaison discussed about the VIPs security arrangements before hand. As per the Delhi police ample number of security personnels were assigned in the march and all security guidelines were followed by the agencies, stated the CRPF.
Furthermore, it stated that, security arrangements can only be applicable, if the one for whom the arrangements are made adheres to the set guidelines. On several instances, Rahul Gandhi was informed about violations of laws on his part, added the CPRF statement.
The agency will handle the issue separately as the protectee has himself broken rules during his Yatra in Delhi. The paramilitary force asserted that, Rahul Gandhi has violated protocol 113 times since the year 2020.
On the other hand, Congress party mentioned that party workers and Bharat Yatris those who were walking with Mr. Gandhi had to form a security circumference in order to feel secured. They termed Delhi police as mute spectators.
