Siwan: The Indian Railways on Saturday ordered a probe into the strange incident, where a loco pilots of the Gwalior-Barauni Express (11123) stopped the train for having a tea near a railway close to Siwan station in Bihar.

As per reports, the guards and loco pilots have been asked to explain.

''Action will be taken against the railway employees after the investigation is completed,'' Pankaj Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway (NER) was quoted as saying by media.

According to eyewitnesses, the train reached Siwan station at 5.27 am. In the meantime 'it was probably the assistant loco pilot who got down from the locomotive and went to a nearby stall to fetch tea'.

After getting the green light, the train left Siwan station at 5.30 am for an onward journey towards Hajipur.

The loco pilot was well aware of the fact that his assistant was not present inside the locomotive cabin.

''When the train reached near the tea stall, he deliberately stopped the train, where the assistant pilot was waiting with a cup of tea in his hand,'' an eyewitness said.

Speaking over the same, Siwan station master Anant Kumar asserted that the matter was brought to the notice of the station director, who took it up with the Divisional Railway Manager in Varanasi.

Reportedly, as the train stopped, several vehicles, including an ambulance got stuck on both sides of the railway crossing.
