Ramdev's U-turn, To Get COVID Vaccine Soon

Dehradun: Founder of Patanjali Ayurved Baba Ramdev, who had earlier said that he does not need any COVID vaccine because he has protection of yoga and Ayurveda, on Thursday, he said that he will get the jab soon and described doctors as "God's envoys on earth."

Earlier, he had claimed that allopathy is a "stupid science" and medicines such as Remdesivir, Faviflu, and other drugs approved by the Drugs Controller General of India have failed to treat COVID-19 patients. Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement about free vaccine on Tuesday made Ramdev to get himself vaccinated.

Ramdev said, "Get both doses of the vaccine and the double protection of yoga and ayurveda. They will combine to give you such a robust shield of protection that not a single person will die from Covid." While asking about when will he get the vaccine, he said, "Very soon."

According to the reports, Ramdev said that he cannot have any animosity with any organisation, in the case of ongoing confrontation with the Indian Medical Association (IMA). He said that all he was against the exploitation of people in the name of medicines.

Ramdev further said that Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras had to be opened because of the tendency among many doctors to prescribe expensive medicines in place of generic drugs, which are much cheaper. "I am not against any organisation. Good doctors are a real boon. They are God's envoys on earth. But individual doctors can do wrong things," he said.

He also said that for emergency treatment and surgery, allopathy is the best. "When it comes to emergency treatment and surgery, allopathy is the best. There cannot be two opinions about it," Ramdev added.
