RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Tests Positive for Covid-19, Hospitalized in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat had tested positive for coronavirus on Friday and was admitted to the Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur where he is currently undergoing treatment. 

Mohan Bhagwat, aged 70, was administered the first dose of the vaccine against coronavirus on March 7 along with RSS general-secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the Nagpur's National Cancer Institute. However, Mohan Bhagwat did not receive the second dose of the vaccine yet. 

The Twitter handle of the RSS said, "RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohanji Bhagwat today tested Corona positive. He has normal symptoms and admitted to Kigsway hospital Nagpur."

Taking to Twitter, BJP leader and Assam cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his good wishes to Dr Mohan Bhagwat wishing him a speedy recovery. He tweeted, "I wish speedy recovery for@RSSorg Sarsanghchalak Pujaniya Dr Mohan Bhagwat ji from #COVID19. Kindly take care and get well soon."

Mohan Bhagwat, the head of BJP's ideological mentor received prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery from his followers and well-wishers all over the nation. 

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is the parent organization of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The BJP is currently the ruling party in the centre and has formed government in 12 Indian states and in another 6  states they have formed a coalition government. RSS is a Hindu nationalist organisation with 'Hindutva' being their dominant ideology. 

The cases for coronavirus is skyrocketing and spiralling out of control as days pass. There has been a massive spike in the cases of coronavirus in recent weeks as India is currently facing the second wave of coronavirus. It has been more than a year since the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic rezached India. Maharashtra is the worst affected of all the states in India, recording 58,993 new cases as of Saturday. 

It is now our collective responsibility as a society to prevent the spread of this deadly virus by following the covid 19 guidelines and cooperating with our front line healthcare workers in their effort to prevent the disease from further affecting more lives.
