Lucknow: In an event organised by Muslim Rashtriya Manch, the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing an audience his speech claimed that the people belonging to Hinduism and Islam have descended from the same that has existed for the last 4,000 years.
In his speech, RSS chief Bhagwat said, "The concept of Hindu-Muslim unity is misquoted because there is no difference between them as it has been proven that we are the descendants of the same ancestors from the last 40,000 years. People of India have the same DNA."
He also emphasised that any one of the two communities cannot be dominant over the other in India.
He added, "There can only be the dominance of Indians."
Interestingly, a meeting will be held between Bhagwat and the intellectuals from the Muslim community at a five-star hotel in Mumbai today.
The 3-day coordination meeting that took place began on September 3 in Nagpur came to an end yesterday.
It is to be noted that the Sangh holds a coordination meeting on a large scale every year.
In other news, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday distanced itself from the comment made by Panchjanya's article attacking software company Infosys for hurting the country's economic interest.
In a social media post RSS's Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, Sunil Ambekar said that the article published by Panchjanya reflects the individual opinion of the author. "As an Indian company, Infosys has made seminal contributions to the progress of the country. There might be certain issues with a portal run by Infosys, but the article published by Panchjanya in this context only reflects individual opinion of the author," said Ambekar.
