To Buy Smartphone, A Teenager In Odisha Sells His Wife To Rajasthan Man, Held

According to details the 17-year old youth sold his 26-year old wife for Rs 1.80 lakh a month after they tied the knot.

However, later the woman was rescued by the police from the south-eastern Rajasthan district of Baran.

Report said that the couple after their marriage went to Rajasthan for work purpose in a brick kiln industry. But however, the boy sold his wife and bough a smartphone.

Police sources said that when the boy came back to home, the family members of the housewife found suspicious as the teenager said that his wife deserted him.

Later the woman's family lodged a missing complaint with the police, and a special team was formed to trace the location of the woman.

The teenager was arrested and produced before a juvenile court on Friday,

October 22, and then sent to a correctional home.
