Mathura: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has imposed a ban on all trades of meat and liquor in Mathura on Monday.
While addressing a crowd in the Krishnotsava 2021 programme in Mathura, UP CM Adityanath announced a total ban on the sale of meat and liquor in the city. He further directed the concerned officials to make proper plans so that this can be smoothly conducted. The officials were also directed to find an alternative trade for those involved in the sale of meat and liquor in the city.
He proposed the sale of milk in lieu of meat and liquor for those currently involved in the business and added that this will help to restore the glory of Mathura that was previously known for producing animal milk in large quantities.
Yogi Adityanath also offered his prayers to Lord Krishna and pleaded for the end of the novel coronavirus infection.
The UP Chief Minister also said that the development of Brij Bhumi will take place in full swing and there will be no shortage of funds in any way.
"We are looking at a blend of modern technology and the spiritual blend of modern technology and the cultural heritage for the development of the region," the Chief Minister said.
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for moving the country in a new direction. The faith that had been neglected has been restored, said Yogi Adityanath.
The speech was made in the presence of cabinet ministers Laxmi Narain Chaudhary and Shrikant Sharma who were there to offer their prayers.
