Who Is Lawrence Bishnoi, Whose Gang Shot Sidhu Moose Wala?

Chandigarh: The 700 member Bishnoi gang has fallen under the radar of the police after Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

The Punjabi singer was shot dead in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on May 29.

Brar, who happens to be a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has claimed responsibility for the lethal attack on Moose Wala via Facebook and also mentioned the names of Sachin Bishnoi Dhattaranwali and Lawrence Bishnoi.

After the singer's murder, the police are keeping a close watch on gangsters, Neeraj Bavania, Tillu Tajpuria, and the Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi-Goldy Brar gang, who are behind bars in different jails in Delhi.

According to reports, a special watch is being kept on them after this murder so as to ensure that no violence between these gangsters erupts in the jails of Delhi.

On the other hand, Goldy Brar claimed that he had killed Sidhu Moose Wala to avenge the death of Vicky Middukhera.

Who is Lawrence Bishnoi? 

Lawrence Bishnoi was born on February 12, 1993, and is a graduate and a resident of Firozepur in Punjab. His father joined Haryana Police as a constable in 1992. He quit his job after five years and started farming.

Bishnoi completed his LLB from Panjab University and started getting involved in illegal activities. Some of the early cases against him were lodged in Chandigarh and other states.

Bishnoi and his gang, which includes professional shooters, operate from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh, and their network is spread across the globe.

He joined the student organisation of Punjab University in 2009 while he was studying in college and he came across president Goldy. Bishnoi started committing crimes after meeting Goldy and getting into university politics.

Lawrence is currently lodged in the high-security ward in jail number 8 of Delhi's Tihar jail. Several cases have been lodged against him in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Punjab. The police continue to keep him on remand for one case or the other.

It is to be noted that the Bishnoi gang is involved in nefarious activities which include the likes of extorting money from the liquor mafia, Punjabi singers, and other influential personalities.
