World Children's Day Celebrations: Sachin Tendulkar, Ayushmann Khurrana Take Part In Friendly Futsal Match

Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood actor Ayushman Khurana participated in a friendly futsal match organised by UNICEF India to mark the upcoming World Children’s Day on November 20 at Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in South Delhi.

NEW DELHI: Cricketing superstar Sachin Tendulkar is well known for his skills within the 22-yards of a cricket field but this time the India's all time great has tried a different game with Bollywood superstar Ayushman Khurana.

Both were seen playing a friendly futsal match organised by UNICEF India to mark the World Children's Day on November 20.

Not only that, but both also performed a specially choreographed dance number in front of hundreds of kids at South Delhi's Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium.

Notably, Tendulkar is UNICEF's Regional Goodwill Ambassador while Khurrana is the Celebrity Advocate for Child Rights. The duo participated in the friendly football match with a team of 20 children.

At the event at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium of the national capital, the former cricketer said that sports can liberate people from many obstructions thereby helping them to become better human beings.

"It plays a more important role for girls and women as it equips them with more power and confidence to make their mark. Today's game showed this. UNICEF's efforts to link play and child rights are commendable. The game is yours as long as you have the passion in your heart," the ace cricketer said.

Speaking at the event, Ayushman Khurana said that team sports help people in realization of their determination, passion, and enthusiasm.

Ayushman Khurana said, "This is what we are here to celebrate. Let's empower girls and boys to promote equality and inclusion for all children. UNICEF, thank you for organising this event on a theme I care about."

Meanwhile, another attraction at the UNICEF organised event was the performance of Grammy-winning artist Ricky Kej. There were also performances by musicians from across the country who performed a specially crafted audio-visual experience dedicated to children.

About 100 school children also presented a creative art dance performance, highlighting stories of inclusion and non-discrimination.
