NEW DELHI: This year's International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the numerous health advantages of yoga, which can improve one's physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Due to its numerous physical, psychological, and spiritual advantages, yoga is an age-old practise with Indian roots that has acquired appeal all over the world.

Team Assam has won the coveted Gold medal at the National Yoga Olympiad, which is a cause for great celebration and accomplishment. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in New Delhi organised the competition under the prestigious direction of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The wonderful news was shared on Twitter by Ranoj Pegu, the Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, School Education, and Tribal Affairs in Assam.

The success is a result of the extraordinary talent, perseverance, and hard work displayed by the four outstanding athletes that represented Assam. During the heated competition, Rani Sonowal from Dhemaji, Bhumika Sahani from Nagaon, Simpi Gogoi from Sibsagar, and Smriti Deka from Darrang displayed their flawless abilities, grace, and flexibility.

Every year, the International Yoga Day theme is revealed by the UN. International Yoga Day was established by the UN in 2014 in honour of yoga's widespread appeal. Each year's theme focuses on a different component of yoga and how important it is to society. The subject for International Yoga Day 2023 this year is "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which elegantly expresses our shared ideal of "One Earth, One Family, One Future."
