Haflong: The Rotary Club of Haflong Hills celebrated the 114th anniversary of Rotary Foundation along with the rest of the Rotary Clubs spread across the world on Saturday by felicitating two professionals with the vocational excellence award at a solemn function.

Anup Biswas, senior journalist of Dima Hasao, and Neeraj Alam Choudhury, a promising policeman, were bestowed the recognition in presence of TT Daolagupu, Principal Secretary (T) of NCHAC. Members of the Club also handed over 10 dustbins sponsored by Rtn Bankim Phonglo, Rtn Kaushik Kachari and Rtn Lonney Jidung and 300 bio-degradable bags with slogans printed on them for awareness to keep Haflong clean.

TT Daolagupu enlightened the gathering on the Clean Haflong initiative undertaken as a people’s participatory movement to bring behavioural change among the citizens of Haflong towards developing more civic responsibility so that Haflong could become a well-managed clean town.
