20 illegal immigrants deported back to Bangladesh, six among 20 are Hindus

Guwahati: At least 20 illegal immigrants lodged in Silchar jail was deported back to Bangladesh on May 4.

As per Border Security Force, these 20 immigrants were deported to Bangladesh via Sutarkandi Border in Karimganj. Border Security Force (BSF) handed over the repatriates to the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).

As per a senior official of Assam Police’s border wing, six among the 20 are Hindus. The deported people were convicted by courts for violation of either the Passports Act or the Foreigners Act, or both.

The repatriates were identified as Shekhar Namashudra (Sylhet), Sujita Chandra Das (Sylhet), Ikbal Hussain Talukdar (Sylhet), Isak Ali (Sylhet), Ajim Uddin (Sylhet), Amed Uddin (Sylhet), Samir Ahmed (Sylhet), Abdul Gafur (Sylhet), Chand Ali (Sylhet), Alim Uddin (Sylhet), Abdul Latif (Sylhet), Rabindra Das (Kishoreganj), Digen Chandra Das (Kishoreganj), Shah Ali Miyan (Kishoreganj), Ibrahim Talukdar (Kishoreganj), Faruk Miyan (Moulabi Bazaar) (Kishoreganj), Sayed Aal Amin (Habibganj), Rabiul Saddar (Gopalganj), Parimal Jaldas (Cox Bazaar) and Alorani Das.
